Byron Bay
We really enjoyed our time in Byron Bay. It is a pretty beach town with a bit of a hippie vibe. There are lots of quirky boutique type shops, bars, cafés and bakeries. The streets are lined with buskers and arty people selling things and there are numerous surf schools to choose from.
We hired bikes while we were there to explore the town and coastline. We had a walk out to Tallows Beach, a wild more remote beach around the Cape Byron Point.
We walked the Cape Byron Peninsula Walk to the lighthouse, passing many beach coves and the most easterly point of Australia. We were also lucky to see dolphins swimming off the coastline.
We enjoyed chilling out too, wandering around the shops, laying on the beach and jumping the waves in the sea.
