Cape Town

We had a wonderful week in Cape Town. It is such a fun city with lots of really interesting things to do. We made sure that we made the most of our time there.

We spent a day on Robben Island learning about apartheid and Nelson Mandela's years in the prison there. The ferry ride over to the island also gave us the opportunity to look back at the city from the ocean which is impressive.

We visited Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and enjoyed a picnic from the tea rooms there.

We visited the District Six Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the National art gallery of South Africa. We went on a tour of a Township, which was a real eye opener and makes you very grateful for the life and opportunities we have. Unfortunately we only took photographs on our camera so you'll have to wait to see those ones.

We enjoyed a day on Camps Bay Beach, which has the very impressive backdrop of the Twelve Apostles.

We watched the sunset from the top of Signal Hill while enjoying a picnic.
